The Tashkent Open Media Spoke to the elated pair who combined with each other or the first time.

Well done girls , a great win

Aleksandra / Katerina :  Thanks , it's a great feeling to win our first tournament together , we decided to play here more than a month ago , we enjoyed playing here and hopefully will play many more events together

You have had some good wins in the week , but the final was relatively easy ?

Aleksandra / Katerina : Every match was different , we fought very hard in the last two matches , the semifinals was the toughest and we managed to scrape through .

Difference between singles and doubles

Aleksandra / Katerina : for us we feel both singles and doubles are important,  apart from the points involved , playing doubles gives good practice, good confidence and also opportunity to work on strategy

On the event and the traditional Chapan presented to them?

Aleksandra / Katerina : We love the tournament , the venue and the people . we feel homely here. The chapan we got her is great present , but too big for me (says Aleksandra). but my grandma will be happy and this will find a place in my house for sure.

Aleksandra did you feel the pressure after a splendid run at the US Open ?

Aleksandra Krunic :  Personally I'm the same person and don't have  pressure , but fatigue and the travelling  made it tough for me a bit .  Yes  now there is tremendous media pressure and lot of people know me and think I should win all the time. However I'm keeping myself to the ground and try to be same and keep distance from the hype.

It's been a great year for me , I have played consistently this year and now  I have to keep calm and stay focused . What happened at US Open was not unexpected at all I worked for the last 15 years . I take tennis like a job.

Plans for the year ahead?

I currently moved to the top 100 which was my goal at the beginning of the year , I will be looking at the Australian Open main draw . I will try and prepare better for the coming year , try to stay healthy and injury free
