Interview of the day - Jovana Jaksic

Jovana Jaksic, 21, Serbia: Burst into prominence at Monterrey, reaching her first WTA final before falling to good friend and countrywoman Ana Ivanovic - then dancing her way into the crowd's hearts at the trophy ceremony.  She made a lot of points , and mostly a lot of fans who propelled her into the WTA Rising Star Contest .

She Spoke with the Tashkent Open Media Team.

What does the WTA Rising star contest mean to you ?

I'm really honored to be a part of this contest, it means a lot for me . If my fans vote for me and keep supporting me I will be able to make it to Singapore during the WTA finals. It will be a big thing to just be with the top 8  players , and the legends . It will be big step forward for me in my career.

What  do you want to say to your fans ?

Thank you very much for supporting me , The fans mean a lot to me  and I love them , whatever I'm today is beacuse of the love and support of my fans . I would like to thank them for being with me in my wins and defeats. I also would request other fans to vote for me , I really want to make it to Singapore.

How has the year  and your goals ?

I have  done well , I played two grand slam main draws , played some good matches , My aim to keep playing enjoying and doing well event after event. I want to keep up my level of play and spend more time on the court. I want to improve my rankings and play all the Grand slams in the coming year

Dont you miss studies, friends ?

My passion is tennis , i know education is very important . I have finished my secondary school and will go to college later. I'm young have time on my hands ,I will complete my studies , My Mother is a doctor and she also understands the importance. I have friends on the circuit , i have a team and my mom who travels with me so I enjoy a lot with them.

You impressions on the event ?

Its a amazing experience , people are kind, the site is beautiful , I feel at home here. I've enjoyed every moment  here and feeling sad to leave the city. i will be back next year for sure. i enjoyed the time I spent with the kids on the court today
