Having missed the first few months of the year due to injuries , Yvonne who has now had Five top 100 seasons wants to make the most of the wonderful run so far and the remainder of the year.

After a tough opener Yvonne spoke to the Tashkent Open Media team.

About her opener with Timea Babos
This is the first time that Played against her it was a tough opener, It’s always great to win the first round .
I’m very happy that I won the very first time that I have played at Tashkent , I like the conditions here , was a close match , especially the way Timea Started in the first set , I was playing short in the first set and finding it tough to get into the match . In the 2nd and the 3rd set I started playing a little longer and got better.I started attacking her second serve and that helped me quite a bit.

About the season so far
This has been an excellent season so far and rewarding too, I was out of the tour from end of the last year and also missed the Australian Open due to shoulder injury.

I started with the Fed Cup this year , then won three challengers in a row which did a lot of good for my confidence , I had a pretty good clay court season regaining the title at Bad Gastein after six years and reaching the finals at Budapest a week before that , I’m feeling great and just hope to do well with every match.

About Her title chances at Tashkent Open
Its too early in the day to predict , but I’ll try to focus on the every round , Everyone is here with a goal to win the event , the level of all players is very much the same and that makes it close , But after my win I feel more confident. I like the atmosphere here ,though I prefer clay I like the courts here and enjoying it and plan to stay here as long as possible .
