Tennis tournament amongst the representatives of diplomatic corps and leading businesses of Uzbekistan, also known as the VIP tournament, that has become a tradition of since Tashkent Open WTA Tour 2007, once again promises to be one of the most exciting and interesting events for the fans of the game. This tournament will take place on the 27th of September 2009 on the courts of the Republican Tennis School of Olympic Reserves. (click here for directions)

Goals and Objectives
Popularization and development of tennis amongst tennis fans.
Increase and development of interest to sports amongst tennis fans.
Place and Date of conduct
Tournament, registration and draw ceremony of participants will be conducted on the courts of Republican Tennis School of Olympic Reserves, Yalangach district, Tashkent .
Dates of tournament: September 27, 2009
Application deadline: September 23, 2009
Administration and Conducting of the competition
Administration of Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan administers the tournament.
The board of referees of Uzbekistan shall be responsible for preparation and conduct of the tournament.
Scheme of conducting the tournament
The teams consisting of 2 players shall be admitted to the tournament. The fixture table shall consist of 16 (sixteen) doubles, which shall be divided into 4 (four) subgroups.
The tournament shall be carried out by a circular system in doubles (mixed doubles male/female).
Winners of each group shall progress to the next draw, which shall be played based on Olympic system until the first loss.
There shall be only one-set-matches up to 4 games. In case of a 3/3 draw a tie-break shall be played
Winners of the subgroups shall be identified based on the following criteria:
1) The number of wins
2) Head to head clashes
3) Game difference
Winners of each subgroup shall play 2nd seeded team of the other subgroup. Semi-final and final matches shall consist of one set with up to six games.
Tournament timetable
9.00 – REGISTRATION, DOUBLES' TEAM FORMATION, DRAW OF THE PARTICIPANTS.
9.30 – MATCHES IN THE SUBGROUPS.
11.00 – MAIN MATCHES BASED ON OLYMPIC SYSTEM SHALL BE PLAYED UNTIL THE WINNER IS REVEALED.
14.00 – AWARDING CEREMONY.
